TOPIC:

Launched from Hammond today and head to the Gong to see what was happening (pastrick was just to ripped up for us to hang out). Setup and fished for about 30 minutes but radio chatter sounded like it was good action at the gong but only for lakers. Decided to head to Gary and check it out. It was us and one other boat for a while along the wall. Action was not fast and furious but once we slowed down to about 2.2/2.3 we started picking some up. Ended up with 4 Coho and 1 decent King (he was about 28 inches long and estimate around 10 lbs but I am not great at guessing weight so take it for what its worth). Stick baits seemed to be the ticket today about 7 - 10 down. Picked up a couple of thin fish also (also had a hard hit on a thin fish that lasted about 3 seconds- thought it got off but when we pulled the lines at the end of the day I was 1 thin fish short).
The King was natural and I marked it on the thread.
Talked to Team Kicker at the marina but forgot to introduce myself- it was a long day and didn't pack a lunch so brain was a little slow. Was nice to unofficially meet you -hope you avoided the rain.
