Can't help it. After being dissed a couple times for my "prognostication" for today, I hate to say, "TOLD YOU SO!" I nailed it. Sorry I wasn't wrong because it was as tough for me as it was for most.

Age and wisdom frequently beats youth and enthusiasm.

Tomorrow is another day and as the week progresses with Hermine off the East Coast and our return to southerlies, good things can happen.

Worst moment of the day was when my customer calls the DNR fishing report line and asks where Trail Creek is. Eh? "Michigan City," say's me.

"According to the DNR, great catches are occurring at the mouth of Trail Creek for kings, coho and steelhead."

I said, "That was before the cold front and north blow."

He said, "It was just updated yesterday."

No good comes from getting into a pissing contest with a customer so I just bit my tongue.

You realize no one fished outside of the breakwalls on Friday at Michigan City so the report was "pre-blow" info. Things change every time the wind blows from the north. Sad, but true.

So what are your thoughts on tomorrow? I skipped today and will be heading out of MC with the wife and kids. Thinking I'll probably start in 100 fow unless the buoy temp string says something different than now.

While your fishing prognostication seems spot on for the conditions after a north blow, your wave forecast might have been be a tad off.

Baron,
Sounds like most of the charters I heard on the radio today out of city did ok. Most of them were saying 80-100 fow was their best water. I don't know how much of there catch was lake trout though if that matters to you.
I fished north out of NB and it was tough as you would expect after strong north wind for a couple days. We were 5 for 6 (I'll post a report a little later.) I would think tomorrow would be better than today was.

Well maybe I'll start in 80 and see what happens. I won't be targeting Lake Trout at least for the first hour or two. I have no problem with Trout saving the day when the silver bite is slow.

Recommend not setting down until at least 52 north we covered a ton of water today north and east of the wreck and I would not recommend it. I will be out in the morning feel free to call me we can help each other find fish.
