Looking at our site's topo map it appears to be near the Ind. and Ill. state lines south of the wreck of the Louisville. Good spot to be at times. I took fish there last summer.

I think around here every minute N is about a mile and every minute W is about 1/2 a mile. Somebody here can verify......

Winner winner chicken dinner. Still though, somebody needs to verify the distance estimates are true. They may be reverse.

The mile per minute of latitude and 1/2 mile per minute of longitude is roughly correct. The lats are in nautical miles which is roughly 1.2 statute miles. Longitude is 1 nautical mile per minute at the equator, zero at the north or south pole so 1/2 mile per minute at 45 degrees north. We are 44 degrees north at the south end so figuring the 1/2 mile is pretty close to reality.
