Any day on the water is usually a good day in my book. Some strikes make it even better. . I found this report interesting as we too are having one of our lowest percentage years on strikes vs caught fish. Went 4 of 10 a few weeks back in MC. Normally we are a 80% landed boat. I figure it's our using sliders. But I have noticed more lost fish for some reason this year. Is it just us or many folks this season?

This is only my second year Salmon fishing so a lot of mine is just amateur mistakes. The first one was all human error; as soon as I felt myself leave slack I knew it was over. One was the dippsie was not set lose enough so fighting the dippsie I think was enough for the fish to get off (and he was a nice one by the amount of line he was taking initially). Then the one just hit so hard it literally ripped the spoon off the line. the fourth one is the only one I can say it just out smarted us somehow - I don't think I did anything wrong with that one. Not sure about others but that is the long story of my 0/4 :). Still was a great day on the water and there was action so not a total loss.

It happens. sometimes error, sometimes bad luck or a combination of both. I had a day 2 years ago when we went 0 for the first 11. Demoralizing! We eneded up with 4 fish that day going something like 4 for 20. I had to check every line to make sure there were hooks on there.......ugh.
