In a lake wide system, I was wondering, who do you think is stocking Skams and having the best success with them? 
Meaning,,, which state is actually the dominate state/ states in the lake wide steelhead production? 
A. Wisconsin?
B. Illinois?
C. Indiana?
D. Michigan?

Well I believe Indiana was first with them. So I'll say C Indiana.

Michigan for normal winter run steelies. They were successfully planted back in the late 1800s so they've been around before the salmon. Salmon had multiple unsuccessful plants before 1967.


Indiana for skamania steelhead. They are planted all around now.

As you know the Steelhead has been the recent study fish. There has been alot of good info in past years, and preliminary info coming  this fall. Preliminary information suggest that Indiana and Michigan are leading the pack. With the St. Joe showing some very good stats.
Also it should be noted that the Skamania travel the lake similar to how the kings do. So just like kings, Skams that get caught in Wisconsin waters could be and are at times Indiana fish.
Indiana and Michigan are raising smolts to a larger size then Wisconsin. Not sure what Illinois is doing.
