Was wondering how many of you fish Micigan water during the season?

I suppose some of you may be fishing with just a couple of fishermen aboard. Would you fish 3 extra rods if given the chance legally?
There is a group that is entertaining the idea. Michigan legislature may get approached on this if there is enough interest this spring.

We fish Michigan water when we need to. I'm saying if we can find silver fish closer, we do. We (not being a charter) would not be likely to venture to these waters only to catch lakers. 
But in saying all that we would like the chance to run more rods. Our normal is to put out as many as we can legally and what the condishions will allow, 

I fish Michigan routinely and usual have just 1 other person in the boat. I would definitely welcome the option to put a few more rods out as I feel I could dial into fish a little better. 

I listened to a Michigan radio podcast yesterday. Jay Wesley Lake Micigan Basin Cooridnator was a guest speaker. If you can find it, was good to listen to and ran almost 1hr.
Jay was asked about the proposed 3 extra rods and he said he wouldn't shoot it down. Michigan is a little different and this proposal has to go thru Michigan legislature. With Michigan DNR not standing in the way moves this alittle more forward. Sounds like there will be a nominal fee of around $26.00 which will be able to be purchased when you buy a Michigan fishing license. This fee will be the same for residents of Michigan as well as non- residents. All other creel limits and such will stay the same.Fingers crossed this will be moving to legislature soon.

Thanks!  The one question I had was if it would cost as much as a second non-resident license.

I would welcome the opportunity.....I fish MI waters often and 3 more rods would be a bonus
 

Keep limits the same but charge more for a couple extra rods?
We would be forced to pay extra when the rod restrictions could simply be eliminated and not taking more $$ out of our pockets.

Mike the cost for 3 extra rods would be simply if you opt in. No force. I believe the $26.00 would go back directly to MDNR for improvements for the fishery. For the fishermen that fish maybe by themselves or with a friend, I would think the cost for 3 extra rods ($8.66 approx) per rod is a cost that some would flip for seasonally. 

I fish Michigan plenty but typically have 3 on board so 9 rods is enough for me.  Just curious who would pay the $26?  Only the boat owner or all on board?  I don't really know that it would be a very popular option. Can you imagine fishing solo trying to steer the boat / net a fish with 6 lines in?  Throw a little breeze in and some other boats in the area and you have a bonified shit show!  Maybe 9 lines with 2 guys could work.
