I for 1 agree with Ed that our group is strong. I enjoyed the entire meeting. I'm writing this so I can bring a little more history to what was said at the meeting. I saw this ad on a TV show the other day and I thought it very good addition to our meeting. It's a link about a show on the history of the entire great lakes system. It's on Prime so I'm hoping most will be able to see it.  www.thefishthief.com/
Enjoy

Thanks WildKat,

And thanks for sharing the link for the fish thief. Donna and I have watched it twice. Did it twice because it was so good. In the 2nd viewing I was able to soak in some of the other information shared in the video. It was really well done. I would hope all our fishermen take the time to watch. There is so much history with the great lakes and all they have gone thru. Thanks again WKT!!!!

I too have watched the movie twice. Very interesting how all the different aspects of the history of the Great Lakes fell into place. Tough the premise of the movie is the ongoing affects of lampreys in the lakes, they did a great job in explaining the role commercial fishing played in changing the fish populations which allowed the lampreys to be as devastating as they turned out to be.

Now if we could get someone with the determination of Applegate to find that one "pill" that would wipe out quagga and zebra mussels. Imagine the fish populations that could develop is the bulk of the nutrients in the Lakes weren't sucked out of the water by mussels.

It is a great movie, a great story and well worth every Great Lake anglers time.
